London, UK – March 6, 2015 – Writer and director, Simon Ludgate, has announced he has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise seed money to produce the film “Gabriel’s Lyre.” This is a screenplay based on the first novel he wrote two years ago. The supernatural thriller film involves an intense game of cat and mouse between a family and a strange castle that has an evil motive to trap those inside. Campaign goal is to raise £250,000 by April 9th, 2015.
“Gabriel’s Lyre” is an incredible story about a highly intelligent young man, Gareth, who is forced to remain immobile in a wheelchair while his troubled soul is tested to destruction by the trauma lying in wait for him. Gareth is on a trip with his troubled parents and closest friends to visit an eerie castle in the Scottish Highlands.
As their stay progresses, it becomes clear to the family that the place is not what it seems. It has horrible evil powers and is trying to hurt all of them. This forces Gareth, who is already dealing with his own demons, to help save his family and the entire world as they figure out a way to escape safely by outsmarting the castle.
Set in the mountains of modern day Scotland, the script for “Gabriel’s Lyre” takes audiences on a terrifying ordeal as Gareth and his family’s world spirals out of control in the greatest crisis any of them have ever experienced. It finally all comes down to one man, Gareth, as his sanity is challenged to the farthest extremes by the forces at work in the castle. This fascinating multi-layered story explores crucial deeper themes that will resonate with audiences around the world.
