Birmingham, UK – March 12, 2015 – Calum J. Lambie, a writer from Birmingham, UK has gone on an incredible journey to find out more about his grandmother’s history. He traveled to Bocholt, Germany and undertook thorough research in Great Britain to learn more about this extraordinary woman, Maria Theodore. Based on true events, he has written the novel The Life and Ties of Maria Theodore. Now Calum has turned to Kickstarter to raise £5,000 by April 7th, 2015 to help him finish and publish the book.
This remarkable tale takes readers on an amazing journey full of real life struggles, heartache, and anguish as one woman fights to survive. The novel is written largely from the perspective of Calum’s grandmother, Maria Theodore. It includes many ofthe fascinating facts that he learned during his three year quest to find out more about this courageous woman as she escaped the clutches of Nazi’s during World War II, after her parents passed away from starvation when she was only 18 years of age.
The Life and Times of Maria Theodore also features the two men Maria loved. Her first husband was captured as a prisoner of war in Russia and she thought she’d never see him again, her second was a British soldier. Maria left Germany and her first-bornchild to save herself by escaping to Great Britain. There she struggled to make it in the working class streets of inner-city Birmingham, while living with the guilt of the life she had left behind in Germany. This impactful story leaves a lasting impression on readers as they realize anything is possible as long as they keep trying.
Calum has written over a third of the book and needs funding to help him finish. Capital raised from Kickstarter will go towards paying for his sabbatical to take time off from work in order to fully complete the book, conduct further research in Germany and the UK, and to help with the eventual self-publication of the book. Backers of the campaign can choose from many attractive rewards as a thank you for the support.
Those who wish to make a contribution, please visit the Kickstarter campaign or click here.
This is an “all-or-nothing” deal. If Calum does not receive enough funding, then it might be years before he can finally finish this amazing book. Any donation will help! Please share this on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites to get the word out about this incredible story of one woman and her efforts to stay alive.
